Every marketing strategy a business adopts can have both merits and demerits. A marketing strategy based on referrals is a very good strategy with lots of merits and minimum demerits. Referral marketing strategy is perhaps the most effective marketing strategy in today’s environment; but it requires thorough planning. Here are some tips for streamlining your referral marketing strategy.
  • First thing you need is patience; unlike most other marketing strategies, referral marketing needs a slow and steady approach.
  • Practice referral marketing along with other marketing strategies, actually it is a good idea to support and grow your referral marketing with other short-term/long-term strategies like brand marketing, building public reputation, e-mail marketing, discounts, etc.
  • Serve your existing customers better. They are the referrers and you should always try to make them happy.
  • Educate your customers about your company, product, quality of service and product, price discounts, etc so that they can pass on these to new customers.
  • Offer your existing customers discounts or other offers for every new referral. Make this practice interesting with innovative ideas.
  • Serve new customers with more than what they expect.
  • Keep all your customer details, referrals and leads up-to-date and organized.
  • Arrange events or special offer periods which can drive new customers with the help of existing ones.
