Workplace harassment is now common in most offices and companies; especially where the number of unsatisfied employees is higher. Most times you plan your business day and allocate proportional time for doing things, but your whole day spends in managing and warning employees; so bad isn’t it? Here are some tips for managing harassment of any type at workplace.
- The first thing you need is a policy, which addresses all types of harassment or discrimination including racial, religion, sexual, age, etc, which can took place in your company.
- The policy must specify consequences; the effect must be same for all in your organization; clearly and strictly.
- Teach your employees about the policy.
- And the next thing you need is the strict implementation of the above policy. Anyone violates it, must face consequence.
- Train your employees, including managers to keep discipline in office and behave gently to customers, team members, subordinates and superiors.
- Investigate the causes of the harassment, who started it and what thing made it worse.
- Spend time to find unsatisfied employees. Cure them if possible, if impossible get rid of them.
