Meetings with team-members have became an important event in today’s most competitive business world, which requires change of strategies and tactics frequently, with each time a competitor changes the same. But most meetings have become boring practices, for all those involved in it. So how can you conduct a business meeting successfully?
- Conduct meetings with objectives; not as daily or weekly routine with nothing to discuss.
- Clearly define the agenda to team-members; so they can prepare.
- Plan the meeting with respective to objective; discussion, progress reporting, strategy or event planning, sharing or collecting information, solving a problem, or decision making.
- Allot time for each and every member so that no one is kept out.
- Cheer them up or introduce new suggestions when you find that it is boring.
- Stay open-minded, never support a view point unless at the time of decision making.
- Tactfully avoid possible conflicts between team-members.
- Clearly announce the decisions and problems yet to be resolved
- Finish meetings on time; taking more than fixed time regularly can harm the positive mentality of your employees.
- Implement the decisions taken in the meetings as soon as possible and let your team-members know there is always results ahead.
