How to Get Most Out of Your Employees

Your employees are the one group who works most hard to grow your business. As they are humans, they need regular motivation to shine in their job. The motivation can be just some inspiring words, incentives, gifts, certificates or appraisals. What a company manager must make sure is he/she does not hurt the mind of a good employee.

Today most employees realize their strong and weak points and are well aware of the quality of their own work. So badly pressurizing them or criticizing them can result in negative attitude towards job. The best way to motivate an employee is publicly admiring him. Appreciating words like well done, thank you, keep it up, etc are the most inexpensive yet most powerful tools for a company manager. Other useful tips are given below

  • Regularly meet your employees preferably at their work place to make are impression that you are in-touch with them
  • When pointing out an error do it in private; in an advisory voice, not commanding.
  • Give them more authority and freedom; remember the words “With power comes responsibility”
  • Listen to the suggestions from employees for performance improvement. Employee suggestions are often more valuable than customer feedbacks.
