Building Business Negotiation Skills

How good are you in negotiating deals in favor of your organization? In today’s business world negotiation is important in all day to day activities from bank loan applying to raw material purchasing to satisfying customers. So here are some tips on how to become a better business negotiator.

  • Identify the needs of your opposite one.
  • Never do negotiation in loud voice, because it gives the message; you are soft-minded.
  • Use proper communication that the other party is clear about your needs and demands.
  • Compromise on silly matters, which does not affect you organization/profit.
  • Identify their bargaining power.
  • Point out to situations that are vulnerable to them; if they do not deal with you.
  • Focus on situations and interests benefit for both parties.
  • Try to invent new options rather that the one you are bargaining one.
  • Find solutions which are valuable to your customers but cause not so loss to you.
  • Try to model other peoples which you know as better negotiators.
  • Never gave the opposition a chance to suspect on your loyalty.
