Why Staff Negatively React to Business Changes

Often managements do months of work in planning and implementing business changes across the organization or team. But many of these changes never get good response from employees, who were supposed to implement the change. There are different factors which governs a employees resistance. Some common negative reactions are noted below.

  • Unwillingness to adopt a new change. They think world is perfect in present situation.
  • Feeling awkward in learning new things. Often they face a situation with pre-decisions.
  • Fear of adoption to change because of fear of loss. They are doubtful peoples who are not sure about achieving the goal.
  • Fear to loss some thing. This is an interesting and common thing; many peoples resist changes only because they have to loss some silly habits or benefits, even if bigger things they can achieve with the change.
  • Loneliness. Many employees think the change can most inversely affect them; even if that make same effect on all (most) team members.
  • Jealousness. Yes, this is true; many employees won’t adopt a change just because it is most beneficial for one or more of his team members.

Things to Consider When Going SaaS

Software-as-a-Service products offer a wide range of advantages to small businesses. But there are many things to be considered before going to subscribe to a SaaS solution to fulfill your business requirements.

  1. Suitability of the SaaS system – Although SaaS solutions can replace most on-premise solutions, SaaS evolution is still its early days, and subscribing to highly complex solutions without enough resources can cause problems.
  2. Total cost of ownership and ROI – these two are always big factors. Compare the total cost of ownership of SaaS and On-premise solutions over a period of time. One thing to be noted is most on-premise solutions may require a replacement or major costly update after a period of time (usually after 2 or 3 years).
  3. Data security, data ownership and data sharing – Info is the success determining factor, every one want to secure it with highest grade of protection. Check for vendor policies.
  4. Integration issues and add-ons – SaaS solutions, as offered online, offer decreased integration with in-house and off-line systems. Integration capability differs greatly among systems, and free trails are best way to analyze that.
  5. Scalability and adaptation to company environment. Analyze that your system can cope with your growing demands and changing strategies.

Enterprise Data Security with SaaS Systems

Security of valuable data is always one of the first priorities in modern business practices. Big companies having enough capital and technical support can ensure better data security by implementing in-house systems. Small and midsize companies never can thought in that way as this may eat up most of their income. For SMBs, better option is Software as a Service (SaaS).

There are many advantages of using SaaS products for SMB data security.
  1. Better security than normal SMB set-up. SaaS vendors use most advanced systems.
  2. Data accessibility around the world, around the clock.
  3. No cost purchase and implementation.
  4. Better data encryption techniques for data transfer and storing.
  5. Regular data back-up, which is hard to find in a SMB setup.
  6. Decreased demands of technical staff, most SaaS security systems are easily configurable.
  7. Predictable costs, as these systems are priced on monthly basis; and also no maintenance costs.
  8. Free dynamic software and system updates by vendors.

Studies have shown that by 2018, more than 65% of total data security market will be occupied by SaaS solutions. But there are many things to be considered before going to SaaS way, which we will discuss tomorrow.
